Robo-Q Tiny Walking Robots
The world’s smallest walking robot was recently unveiled in Japan and is called Robo-Q. The two-legged toy, dubbed ‘‘Robo-Q,’’ is only 3.4 centimeters high, is able to walk by following an object or avoiding a contact with obstacles. You can also control it to play games like soccer by using a remote control
. Cool, right?
The robot is from Tomy Co, the same company that makes I-Sobot, listed by Guinness World Records as the smallest humanoid robot in production. Robo-Q is being displayed at the Robo Japan 2008 Exhibition in Yokohama.
What is the price of this world’s smallest walking robot? Robo-Q comes in four colors and will be sold in Japan starting around February for ¥3,500 or about $34.95 US. The robot is expected to be sold in other Asian countries soon afterward and in the United States and Europe at an unspecified date, Tomy officials said.
